Privacy.

What we collect

• Aggregate analytics. Which pages get visited, from which countries and cities, on what kind of device. We look at this data as totals and trends — "1,200 visits from London last month" — never as individual browsing profiles.
• Standard server logs. Like every website, our servers record technical request logs (including IP addresses) used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. They are not used to profile you and are never published or sold.
• Coarse location for convenience. When you first visit, we look up your IP against a local DB-IP city database (licensed CC BY 4.0) to suggest the nearest city we cover — that's why the homepage can say "Shows near you in Paris". The lookup is transient: the suggestion service returns only a city name, never your IP or exact location, and your city preference is remembered in your own browser (localStorage), not in an account profile — unless you save a home city yourself. The "Shows near me" button is separate and only uses your precise location if you explicitly tap it and approve the browser prompt.
• Account data, if you sign up. Fans: an email address (for magic-link sign-in), an optional display name, an optional home city, and your saved shows and follows. Comics and bookers: the profile details you choose to add.

Analytics & cookies

We run two separate analytics tools. They are not the same thing, and only one of them needs your permission:

• Our own first-party beacon (page path, referrer, screen size, browser language, and a random per-tab session id — never a name, email, or IP stored against it) posts straight to our own API. It has no third-party recipient and sets no cross-site cookie. This is the aggregate-analytics data described above, it runs on every visit, and we treat it as strictly necessary to operate the site — so it is not gated behind the choice below.
• Google Analytics (GA4, measurement ID G-1Q74JY864H) is optional and off by default. On your first visit you'll see a banner with an Accept and a Reject button — rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting, one click either way, no pre-ticked box, no follow-up nag. No request to Google of any kind is made, and no Google cookie (_ga, _gid) is set, unless and until you click Accept. Google acts as the processor; the purpose is aggregate traffic and audience measurement (visits, pages, rough location from IP, device/browser type) — we never send it a name, email, or account id. Data retention follows Google's own GA4 property configuration, not a setting we control; see Google's privacy policy for how Google itself handles it.
• COMEDY ATLAS and pariscomedy.com share this one GA4 property (same project, two domains), with Google's cross-domain linking configured so moving between the two doesn't fragment a session into a false "referral" in either site's traffic reports.
• Change your mind any time: reopen the analytics choice, or clear your browser's storage to reset it.

What we never do

• We never publish anyone's personal contact info. Getting in touch with a comic or booker always goes through our relay — that protection is the product.
• We never sell personal data. If we ever share audience numbers with a sponsor or partner, it's aggregate only — totals per city and country — never names, emails, IPs, or individual histories.
• No ad trackers, no cross-site retargeting, no data brokers. Neither analytics tool above shares data with an ad network, and nothing on this site follows you to another site.
• No dark patterns in the consent choice. Reject is the same size, same click count, and same one-step process as Accept — see "Analytics & cookies" above.

Comic notifications & opportunity matching

If you're a comic and publish an available date in your portal, we match it against open spots bookers post for the same city and date, and email you if one matches — opportunity matching. That email alert is checked on by default each time you publish a date (you can uncheck it per date, right there in the portal), and every match still respects the relay rule above: the notification is built only from the show's own public name, role, date and pay terms — never from the booker's contact details.

Booking messages (an invite, a response, a counter-offer) are the one category we treat as always-on, the same transactional carve-out most mail platforms use — muting them mid-negotiation would leave the other person hanging. Everything else — opportunity-match alerts, show-detail updates, digest cadence, quiet hours, muting one followed show/comic/venue, or unsubscribing from COMEDY ATLAS email entirely — is yours to change any time from Notification settings.

Retention & your choices

• Your Google Analytics choice (accept/reject) lives in your own browser's storage, not our servers — reject it, accept it, or reopen the banner and change it any time (see "Analytics & cookies" above). Clearing your browser storage resets it to "not asked yet", and the banner will show again on your next visit.
• Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security and trend analysis, then reduced to aggregate statistics.
• Your city preference lives in your own browser — clear your browser storage and it's gone.
• Signed-in fans can clear their display name and home city any time from My Itinerary, or ask us to delete the account entirely.
• Comics: listings are built from public information. If you want your page changed or taken down, tell us — see the claim link on your page or just email us.
